Current Delivery Model
Participants brainstorm risks and vulnerabilities during a one-day climate resiliency workshop
Phase 3 of CBT's Communities Adapting to Climate Change Initiative launched in summer 2011. Its goal is to support interested communities in the Canadian Columbia Basin to increase their resiliency to potential climate change impacts. Phase 3 helps communities jump-start their climate resilience efforts: new communities participate in a one-day workshop that results in a preliminary action plan and identification of a specific climate resilience project that fits with current local government priorities.
Local governments choosing to formally participate in the initiative can:
1. Access a diverse range of adaptation planning expertise through the Initiative's Technical Support Team
2. Apply for matched funding (up to $10k) towards their adaptation planning efforts
3. Receive support and guidance on adaptation efforts from the CACCI staff team
4. Participate in the CACCI Learning Network (targeted activities that support knowledge sharing and capacity-building on climate adaptation and resilience in the Basin)
CACCI offers the following free climate adaptation and resilience resources to all Basin communities:
--> Participation in the Learning Network - Join
--> From Dialogue to Action - full report, summary report and animated video
--> CACCI quarterly e-letter
--> Online Adaptation Resource Kit
--> Adaptation Discovery Tool
--> One-day local government workshop to kick-start adaptation planning
New Communities - Info to Get Started
Communities interested in initiating climate resilience planning are advised to read this one-pager: CBT's Climate Resilience Opportunities, and contact Initiative Coordinator Kate Mahoney. Phase 3 will conclude in May 2014.

Working with Phase 1 & 2 Communities on Implementation
The CACCI Team supports implementation actions by Phase 1 & 2 communities by identifying common implementation needs and developing additional projects to support those needs. Key learnings are documented so that they can be shared with other Basin communities via the Learning Network.
The following projects were implemented in collaboration with Phase 1 and 2 communities to support climate resilience and adaptation.
